It’s nearly time to step away from the emails, switch off the spreadsheets and soak up some of the best bits of Ipswich life.

Whether you’re after a dose of fresh air, a spin around the dancefloor, a serious singalong or a good old-fashioned belly laugh, this weekend has you covered.

Here’s what’s happening in Ipswich from 19–21 September:

🏃‍♂️ Ipswich Parkrun

Saturday, 9am – Chantry Park
Start your weekend with a burst of energy (or a gentle stroll). This free, community-run event is a brilliant way to clear your head and connect with others. Everyone’s welcome, walkers, joggers, sprinters and supporters too.

💃 Line Dancing Evening

Friday, 7pm – Gainsborough Community Library
No sequins required (but always encouraged). This light-hearted session is perfect for beginners, with upbeat music, easy moves and plenty of laughs. Just bring two left feet and a smile.

🎤 Queen of the Night – A Tribute to Whitney Houston

Saturday, 7:30pm – Corn Exchange
Expect powerhouse vocals, glittering gowns and unforgettable anthems. If you love a big night out with even bigger ballads, this one’s for you.

😂 Babatunde Aléshé – Live Comedy

Sunday, 8pm – Corn Exchange
As seen on Gogglebox and Live at the Apollo, Babatunde brings sharp wit and huge charisma. A brilliant way to round off the weekend with a proper laugh.

🏛️ Ipswich Heritage Open Days

Running until Sunday – various locations
Discover the stories behind Ipswich’s most historic buildings many of which are opening their doors for free. A great excuse to be a tourist in your own town.

Why it matters

You don’t need a full-blown retreat to recharge. A walk in the park, a burst of music or a moment of laughter can reset your mindset and boost your week ahead.
